Going on Vacation

I am leaving in 2 days to go on vacation to a place my Grandfather took my dad and my dad too me. Now I get to take my wife and two sons. The lake shore of the largest freshwater lake in the world. Lake Superior.  There is a stone beach that reaches for miles in either direction. Isaac will be throwing rocks till his little arm won't keep throwing.  Cristi and I will be enjoying the quiet nights with only the sound of our sons sleeping and the waves on the stones.  Ethan will try to swim in the cold clear water.  I will be loving it!
What an amazing thing tradition is.  Sometimes in our world tradition gets a bad rap.  I believe tradition is powerful and helps make life and our relationship with Christ and others more deep and meaningful.
Tradition helps us remember there is more to this world that what we have put into it or taken out of it.  It gives us a sense of awe, knowing that we are part of a bigger picture.  It also gives us moment of reflection to do a mental check.  "Am I who I want to be?"," Am I doing what I should be?",  "Am I keeping the tradition alive?","Should the tradition stay alive?"
Next chance you have to be a part of tradition, or start a new one, go for it.

I wanna change the world!

Man what an egotistical statement. but it is totally true. I really
do want to be part of changing this world. I have been trying to
influence more people through the options i have, specifically this
wonderful inter-web-net-world wide-.com place. I hope, that at the
end of my life i can look back at a path of changed lives and
transformed situations. i feel very unprepared and unqualified for
this job, but i know a Living God, who can use people like me to help
transform the world. wanna join me in the revolution?
God bless you!

God is too good!

I just got back from a great weekend with the teenagers. We spent
good time at NorthCentral University. On Friday I took them on the
one day tour of the twin cities and got them some of the best coffee
ever Coppelas coffee shop. After spending a good night with everyone
at my sisters we headed to the Mall of America. Maybe i am old but it
is way to big for me. seems like it has everything every other mall
has plus some other little stuff. Not a big draw for me, other than
the Apple store, which we spent some quality computer, iphone, macbook
air time in. fun.

then Home to my family, oh did those boys look great sleeping. My
sons are two of the most wonderful gifts God has given me. And seeing
my wonderful Cristi again was a sight for sore eyes.
Sunday morning was great, but after service God blew me away. One of
my teenagers said he needed to talk to me after service. So we went
to my office and he said, "I really feel like God wants me to give
something big. I talked with my parents and I feel God wants me to
give you an Ipod touch."

Winter is coming to an end

Last weekend was Winter Blitz. That is our winter trip with the
teenagers. God did awesome stuff in the lives of the kids. They were
so committed to going that even sickness could not keep them away. On the way up we had to stop 2 times for a couple of our students who
were sick and had too...well you know... get ride of the sickness.
But they felt better as the weekend went on. We all grew closer to
each other and closer to Jesus. Great trip, great to be back.

God bless you!

the kids and share with them but man I am wiped out. I hope you all

The more it stays the same, the more it changes

I was thinking about the temporary state of everything lately. How so
many times I want things to stay the same but nothing in this life
does stay the same. We are always changing, and the world around us
is always changing. It made me think of the artist, Andy Goldworthy
who does amazing pieces. His whole idea is to embrace the temporary.
To realize that it is totally fine that things change and can even be
beautiful.
